All-season tyres have some clear advantages in Central Europe

There are some clear advantages in choosing an all-season tyre when you live in Central Europe. The main reason for this is that the temperature is often more unpredictable. It is more difficult to manage with either just summer tyres or using the combination of summer and winter tyres. If there are no winter conditions present during the year, you can manage with just having summer tyres on your vehicle. If you have some winter conditions and want to continue using your vehicle, you will need to have some tyre option approved for winter use.

The weather and your driving habits will dictate your tyre selection. If you have some long and clear winters, the winter tyres will always be the best for performance and safety. However, with unpredictable weather conditions, the all-season tyres can provide a better and more convenient option to handle summer and winter conditions. You can also use the same set for the whole year and not worry about timely changes between the tyres to achieve the best safety and performance.

With all-season tyres, you will always have tyres that can handle the weather conditions. This can improve the safety when you drive as if you have summer tyres and have some unexpected snowfall, you will be in danger if you try to drive. With unpredictable weather, this can happen more often than you can imagine, and if you can’t use your vehicle those days, it will be very inconvenient. It will be even worse if you still use your vehicle and risk yours and others by driving. You should always leave the car behind if you have the wrong tyres and not risk driving with tyres that aren’t approved for those conditions. This is why most accidents happen when you have sudden weather changes. Vehicles end up having the wrong tyres mounted.

When selecting all-season tyres, you will need to make sure that you select premium tyres to have fantastic properties both in cold and warm weather conditions. Creating tyres that can be safe throughout the year isn’t easy, and they also have to pass stringent tests to get the Alpine symbol (3PMSF) on the sidewall. This is the same that winter tyres have. This will ensure that they perform well on snow and ice. For the summer properties, you can use the EU-tyre label to get a good indication of how well they will perform.

For all-season tyres, the critical parts are how well they will perform in wet conditions during the warm seasons and how well they will perform on snow and ice in cold conditions. Suppose they can provide good performance and safety for all these. In that case, you will have a safe alternative compared to changing between summer and winter tyres and risking not getting the timing correct and possibly have high wear on your winter tyres.  This is because winter tyres have excessive wear in warm weather, as drivers should use them during cold temperatures.
